Portrait Process
Thank you. It is always an honor when I am selected to paint a personal portrait. All work is executed with high quality stretched linen canvas and I use only traditional archival oil paints, medium, and varnish.
My portrait process is fairly simple and is designed to minimize the sitter’s time while maximizing the portrait results. First, I offer a no obligation consultation where we can discuss your objectives and budgets. Based on our discussions, I’ll formulate a quote.
After agreeing on the scope and quote, we’ll schedule live sittings with the subject either at my studio or at your location. At each sitting, I will take several reference photographs.
The portrait painting will progress in four stages over 2-4 months, 1) Drawing, composition, and construction (Initial Approval) 2) Color block-in 3) Likeness and modeling of the face/figure forms 4) Finishing details (Final Approval)

print of an original Landscape painting - handsigned by the Artist. I will follow up with you by emailing an updated rate sheet and scheduling our initial consultation.
